The idea of developing this Global Weld Management (GWM) welding software was born out of the experience we have gained over the last 20 years.

Today, there are more businesses active in national and international projects than ever before. A side effect is the unavoidable need to achieve an understanding and appreciation of an array of welding codes, standards, and requirements in different parts of the world.

Breaking down barriers is one objective of Global Weld Management (GWM). It includes logic through which qualification ranges are calculated according to a defined set of rules (codes, standards, specifications).

We implemented a language selection option, through which license users and business partners can communicate and exchange information and data. Thus, every user is able to issue and approve a document in one of the available languages, while the business partner can review the document in a language of their choice. We realize that at times the translation is not 100% perfect; however, please keep in mind that the foundation of the App is English. At any time, you can send us a translation suggestion, and we can update the GWM translation picker.

Collaboration amongst parties does include a document review option for third party organizations (Examiner or Examining Body; Witnesses). Unique is that the user can send an invite to any individual with the request to review and approve a process or performance qualification. Thus, we provide the option to validate conditions prior to starting a project, right from the individual’s computer, tablets, or even smart phone (with limitations).

Collaboration and consensus are not only applicable to business partners!

For instance, experts from engineering, material science, fabrication, or testing must have the opportunity to implement, validate, update, revise and utilize essential data and information. GWM includes libraries that support these exchanges. Depending on user rights, a licensed user can add new parent materials, weld joint designs, welding consumables, and have them reviewed by other experts prior to use. Thus, a clear understanding of manufacturing conditions can be established, and confusion can be eliminated at any stage of a project.

Multi-site Management & Central Administration

We designed a multi-site management feature. Businesses that operate from different locations can decide if each site will use a site-specific license or if some or all sites operate in our central administration option. The central administration idea is to enhance uniform management of welding applications, in addition to engineering and technology exchanges with best practices.

Scalability

We designed the Global Weld Management (GWM) App for scalability in many ways (content, features, scope). For instance, if our customer would like to implement new welding codes or internal specifications, we strive to implement such through our unique custom settings tool. We believe that this program feature is a value-add to our customers in terms of customized solution implementation, customer program infrastructure, as well as cost and time savings.

Pricing

We did not want to create a software application for a defined price per code or standard. Right now, every license can experience every feature and implemented code. The pricing of GWM is based on the number of welders per license and site. Thus, every customer can take advantage of any available features and implemented welding code, for a cost that reflects the size of the welding business during the purchase of a license.

The Future

Updating and improving GWM is in our plan. Considering additional features, forms, or UX improvements is always part of the software’s future. Adding codes and features is an ongoing process, for which we enjoy any feedback and input based on industry and individual desires and needs. We keep adding and improving it for our customers. For instance, in the near future, we will be implementing additional codes, tools, or modules, which may be offered as an integrated feature or add-on.
